Batoul Mesdaghi

Batoul Mesdaghi is a researcher at TNO Energy Transition Studies. With a background in Engineering and Policy Analysis at Delft University of Technology, she uses various qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze complex socio-technical problems. Previously, she worked as a consultant for multiple local government bodies on climate adaptation strategies and policies. This work highlighted the importance of involving marginalized communities in the energy transition, leading her to focus on energy poverty, energy inequality, energy justice, and intersectionality. Within the Dutch National Research Programme on Energy Poverty, she conducts interviews with households in energy poverty and evaluates the effectiveness and inclusivity of energy aid services.
