Sjoerd Kluiving

Kluiving has a background in Sciences (Physical Geography, Geology) as well as the Humanities (Archaeology, Environmental Humanities) and teaches at two faculties and three departments. With this background, he is uniquely equipped to bring together three VU faculties and take on this supra-disciplinary approach. Kluiving combines projects, teaching and research from these three domains and works together with six PhD students divided over Science, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Sjoerd has an extensive network of multi-disciplinary researchers within the VU and beyond. He unites many disciplines and diverse networks and the summed value of these is that they can lead to address complex issues in research and training.
